Make sure you stay positive. There is nothing more harmful to a sales professional than getting down on yourself or your profession. You need to realize that you will have tough days, but they will only make you stronger. Make sure to focus on the big picture and remain happy about what you are doing.
-
You need to set good goals. Make sure you are actually doing this and not just moving forward aimlessly. Write them down on a sheet of paper so you can look at them and remind yourself why you are working so hard. Make sure the goals are a stretch for you, but also make sure you can actually attain them.
-
Make sure you are organized. This applies to your physical space like your office, desk or general working area. But this also applies to your schedule. Make sure you write down what you will be doing througout each day and stick to it.
-
Make sure to educate yourself as much as you can. Try to read as many books and articles about your industry as you can. No one ever missed out on a sale because they knew too much about their industry or product.
-
Make sure you offer good customer service. This is especially important when you are up against competitors as they may use this to help them steal your customers away. Go ahead and give your buyers a little personal touch each and every time you make a sale.
For a full course on how to kill it in sales I highly recommend this site. I know a lot of rich sales people who have taken this course.
